Turkey's Embassy in Tehran Chief Trade Officer Cengiz Gürsel told the AA correspondent about the issues that businessmen who want to invest and trade in Iran should pay attention to.

Stating that Iran is trying to get out of the closed economy, however, there are some negative habits and reflexes brought on by being closed to the world for many years, Gürsel stressed that it is important for the foreign investor to make the commercial environment transparent.

Gürsel noted: "Our businessmen who came to Iran should know that they did not come to an investment environment where the legislation sat down and everything worked just fine. This country has risks as well as business potential. In European countries, however, there is no regulatory problem. There's transparency. But it's a saturated market. The fact that there is still an investment deficit in Iran increases its appeal. While this transition period is an advantage, the shortcomings we are talking about also pose a risk. This is where the talent and art of the businessman emerges."
