Here's how to summarize the conflict Z generation has had with the business world in 10 articles:

1. Problems of Harmony with Traditional Hierarchy

Generation Z is a generation that prefers flexible and horizontal structures. Traditional, rigid hierarchical structures can limit this generation's desire for creative thinking and innovation, which can lead to conflicts in the workplace.

The Answer to Generation Z: We want to expand the range of companies with traditional and rigid hierarchy, that is, to develop the company we're in and strengthen their connections. We are aware that if these structures do not expand their range and lead to the next generation, they will unfortunately not find a place in the future. So we think that innovation is always necessary, that innovation will take us into the future.

2. Demands for Work-Life Balance

Generation Z places great emphasis on work-life balance. Reacting to long working hours, this generation demands flexible working hours and remote working opportunities. These demands can cause conflicts with employers.

The Answer to Generation Z: Through flexible and remote work opportunities, we can work remotely, fulfilling our duties and responsibilities even when we cannot go to work. Long and daily work in the same place, in the same environment; it can dull our creativity, cause us to get bored with working life, want to get away, fail to perform our duties and responsibilities, 'exhaustibility syndrome' as seen in most of Generation Y. Which, unfortunately, can cause us to walk away from work.

3. Technology-Focused Work Culture

Generation Z is a generation that grows with technology and wants to use it effectively in the workplace. In companies that adhere to traditional methods, this generation may feel inadequate or blocked.

The Answer to Generation Z: Technology is a tool that allows us to access information and data from all over the world, making working life easier when used correctly and effectively, not only to make our working lives easier, but also to improve the company we are in. So it is natural that we want to use this tool in the most effective and active way possible and that we feel blocked and inadequate if we do not use it/are unable to use it. It is impossible to obtain the information and data we need only from books, experienced people.

4. Value-Focused Work Request

Generation Z expects the companies it works with to have ethical values. This generation, which cares about issues such as environmental awareness, social responsibility and fair trade, may not choose to work in companies that do not carry these values.

The Answer to Generation Z: Ethical values are very important not only for Generation Z, but also for our past and future generations. Through environmental awareness, we can make the world we live in more livable, improve our ability to empathize by engaging in social responsibility projects, maintain competition with fair trade, strengthen trade links between countries.

5. Career Development and Feedback Expectations

Generation Z expects constant feedback and rapid progress in their careers. Traditional annual evaluation processes may be insufficient to meet these expectations.

The Answer to Generation Z: We demand monthly/weekly evaluation processes through the sector we are in instead of annual evaluation processes, as the feedback we want to receive will help us to move forward with the right steps in our career, develop ourselves/teammates, find out what is expected of us and how much we are meeting those expectations.

6. The Need for Autonomy and Creativity

This generation cares about being autonomous in its work and expressing its creative thoughts. Micromanagement and restrictive job descriptions can lead to frustration for Generation Z employees.

The Answer to Generation Z: As Generation Z, we want to use all of our talents, knowledge, and thoughts to improve our business. Where this is not possible, unfortunately, we may feel that our thoughts are of no importance, even though they are intended to improve, and we may want to go to a company/sector change where we can improve ourselves instead of improving where we are.

7. The Search for Meaning

Generation Z seeks meaning in their work and does not want to work just to make money. They look for jobs that contribute to society and do not consider staying in workplaces for long periods of time that do not offer such opportunities.

The Answer to Generation Z: The most important reason why we don't want our business to be just a means of making money for us is that we're going to spend the majority of our lives working just like the previous generations, and the company we work for, the sector and position we're in, is not money. Contributing to society means contributing to ourselves. That means enough to us.

8. Approach to Team Work

Generation Z prefers collaborative work environments. However, traditional workplaces focused on individual success can cause conflicts with this generation.

The Answer to Generation Z: We believe that teamwork is more efficient than individual work, making things a little easier for everyone. However, teamwork and collaborations do not mean that we do not achieve individual success. Each individual involved in the team has unique responsibilities to themselves and their abilities, hence individual success.

9. Sensitivity to Diversity and Inclusion

This generation places great emphasis on diversity and inclusiveness. They do not want to work where there is no equality in issues such as gender, race, sexual orientation, and this can cause conflict in the workplace.

The Answer to Generation Z: Equality is a left-over concept for Generation Z. We don't think that we will need to fight for equality anymore on behalf of our own and future generation, not through gender, race, sexual orientation, but by recognizing people as they introduce to us and as we see them, situations that should be and shouldn't be in our work environment should be evaluated in our eyes no longer through morality, but through ethics.

10. Flexibility to Traditional Business Assurance

Generation Z may prefer to work with flexible and short-term projects rather than traditional job security. This can lead to different expectations of long-term commitment with employers.

The Answer to Generation Z: This is because in the current business world, employees only work 50 weeks a year to get two weeks off. We want to see our work as one of the tools that exists for us to live, rather than being a necessity that we must fulfill.

As a result;

Generation Z emerges as a precursor to a new wave in business. This generation has grown into technology, is sensitive to global problems, and has a committed stance on work-life balance. Traditional business structures and hierarchical systems may have difficulty responding to the expectations of Generation Z, which can lead to a variety of conflicts in the workplace. However, these conflicts should be seen as opportunities.

The business world has to understand the demands of Generation Z and develop business models that fit those demands. Flexible working conditions, continuous feedback processes, commitment to ethical values, and encouragement of creative freedom can make Generation Z happier and more productive in the workplace. In addition, this generation's predisposition to technology offers a great advantage in creating efficiency and innovation in business processes.

The fact that employers are sensitive to the needs and values of Generation Z not only allows this younger generation to stay in the workplace longer, but also helps companies remain innovative and competitive. The wind of change that Z generation brings in the business world, when managed correctly, can turn into a lucrative situation for all parties.

As a result, the conflicts experienced by the Z generation in the business world signal the transition to a more flexible, inclusive and value-oriented business culture. As employers adapt to this change, the energy of Generation Z and its innovative way of thinking will be an important force that will move the business world forward. This generation's fresh outlook on the business world has the potential to go beyond traditional business structures and shape the future business world.
